You stood in front of the one door you wanted. You knew exactly what it looked like, the timing, the way it would feel to walk through it. And it stayed shut, while a different road opened up beside it, longer and steeper and nothing like what you asked for.
That is one of the hardest parts of faith nobody warns you about. Not the silence. The redirect.
Everybody can nod along to "trust the process" when the process looks reasonable. A short detour, a little delay, a plot twist that makes sense by Friday. That version is easy to believe in.
This is the other version. The one where you prayed for the easy opening and got handed more weight to carry instead. Where the road you are on now is objectively harder than the one you asked for, and you cannot see a single reason why that would ever be the better call.
Here is where it gets real. Trusting the process does not mean pretending the harder road is secretly easy. It means walking it anyway, before you have any proof it was worth it.
Let yourself say it out loud. This seems unfair. You did the asking, you did the hoping, you lined everything up right, and the answer was the long way around.
You are allowed to feel that. Faith does not require you to be thrilled about the detour. The women who get through these seasons are not the ones who felt grateful for the hard road from day one.
They are the ones who kept moving on it while it still felt unjust.
That is the whole muscle. Not understanding why. Walking it before the why ever shows up, and sometimes the why never fully does.
A woman who only ever got the easy door never had to find out what she could carry. You are finding out right now, whether you wanted the lesson or not.
Think about the weight itself. The thing you handled this week that you were sure would flatten you, and it did not. The morning that fell apart and you still got everyone where they needed to be.
You did that on the harder road, and the easy door would never have shown you that version of yourself existed.
Women come back stronger after every setback. That is not a slogan to stitch on something. It is just what keeps happening, over and over, to women who keep going when the road gets steep.
Here is the thing about being a woman right now. You do not get the option to set it down and wait for an easier assignment. You keep going as a mom, a daughter, a sister, the one everybody leans on.
That sounds exhausting, and some days it is. But there is a strange gift buried in it. Since stepping back was never really on the table, the only direction left is forward, and forward is where the new version of you is waiting.
The woman on the other side of this harder road is someone you have not fully met yet. She is braver than the one who begged for the easy door. She had to be.
When you cannot change the road, change what you can. For me, that has always started with movement, not because of how it looks, but because it is the fastest way back into my own head.
Your body is the only one you get, and it is the thing carrying all of this. A ten-minute walk to hear yourself think, a few minutes of sweat that burns off the frustration you cannot say out loud. That is stress relief first and everything else second.
The physical part cracks open the mental part almost right away. On the days the harder road feels impossible, moving even a little is often what makes the next step possible at all.
The tidy kind of faith wants the receipt. Walk the hard road, get the explanation, feel the relief of it all making sense. Real life rarely hands it over on that schedule.
So you trust the process without the proof in your hand. You keep believing life turns around the minute you start turning it around for yourself, even while the harder road is still under your feet and the reason is still out of view.
That belief is the whole thing we are building a community around over at OK Tease Co. A place where a woman standing on the harder road can look up and remember she is stronger than it is, especially on the days she does not feel it.
Look back at where this road started, not at the door you are still mourning. You are further down it than you realize, and you got here carrying more than you thought you could lift.
The easy door would have been simpler. It would not have made you into this. And this, the woman you are becoming out here on the harder road, is worth more than the shortcut you asked for.
Keep walking. You have got this, even on the mornings it does not feel true. The reason you cannot see yet is still a reason, and you are still rising.
