She's not the old you, and I want to say that plainly before we go anywhere else. Everybody keeps waiting to feel like themselves again, like there's a former version filed away somewhere that's going to walk back through the door one morning and take over. But the woman you're becoming right now, in this exact hard stretch, is new.
Nobody has met her yet. Not even you.
It makes sense that you'd want the old you back. She knew how things worked. She wasn't carrying what you're carrying now, and from here that looks like an easier life.
But go easy on that instinct, because it keeps your eyes pointed at a woman who doesn't exist anymore. You're not the same person who hadn't been through this yet. You couldn't be, and honestly, thank God for that.
What's forming instead is someone who has seen the bottom of the barrel and is still standing. That woman is worth meeting.
Think about the last thing you got through that you were sure would flatten you. The morning that fell apart before it started, and you still got everyone where they needed to be. The night you were running on fumes and showed up anyway.
You handled it. You didn't feel strong while you did it, and that's the part that trips women up. Strength almost never announces itself in the moment.
It only shows up later, when you look back and realize you did the thing you swore you couldn't.
That's her. The version nobody has met yet is being built out of those exact moments, the ones nobody clapped for.
Here's where I want to plant a flag. Rebuilding yourself is not a repair job on the old model. You're not patching the woman you were.
You're becoming someone new, and that's a bigger, better thing than restoration.
The word rebrand gets thrown around like it's just a haircut and a new attitude. It's not. It's deciding who you're going to be on the other side of this and then living your way into her, one small choice at a time.
Some of those choices are unglamorous. The water you drink. The ten minutes you move your body before anyone else needs you.
The honest talk you give yourself in the car. None of it feels like transformation while you're in it. All of it is.
I move my body because it's the fastest door I know into feeling like a human again. Not to shrink, not to look a certain way. To carry what I'm carrying without it crushing me.
Movement was a stress reliever for me long before it changed anything physical. Twenty minutes and my head clears enough to think straight, and then the physical part follows on its own time. Your body is the only temple you get in this life, so taking care of it isn't vanity.
It's the groundwork the new you stands on.
And here's the full circle of it. When you start taking care of yourself physically, it starts helping you mentally almost right away, and that's what makes you able to keep going at all. Your kids are watching that whole process.
They see you go down into something hard and climb back out, and you just showed them how it's done without saying a word.
I'll be honest, I can't always see the reason I'm going through what I'm going through. I don't get a tidy explanation where everything lines up and makes sense. Most of the time I get the version where I keep going anyway and trust that the process isn't pointless, even when it feels unfair.
That's the faith that's carried me. Not the kind where the answer comes when I want it, but the kind where I trust that life turns around the minute I start turning it around for myself. God knew what He was doing when He made the woman.
She's a force, and that includes you, on the day you feel least like one.
The version of you nobody has met yet is somebody you're being trusted to become. You don't get to see the whole picture from here. You just keep walking toward her.
There's a reason a woman puts on a tee that says something bold on a morning she doesn't feel bold at all. It's not about the shirt. It's a reminder pinned to your chest that says you're strong even now, especially now.
The graphics we put out at OK Tease Co. carry a message before they're anything else: what a woman boss actually is, what confidence actually is, being a goddess to yourself, becoming new. You put it on and you feel it, and some days that reminder is exactly the nudge that gets you out the door.
But the shirt is a byproduct. The real thing is a room full of women who've been where you are, telling you the truth: you're not lost, you're mid-build.
You don't have to have her figured out today. She shows up in the small wins, the boring choices, the mornings you win before noon. She shows up when you stop grieving the old you long enough to notice who's standing in her place.
Be bold in the meantime. Stand tall in whatever room you're in, even the ones that want you to blend in. The woman nobody has met yet is already here, being built out of every hard thing you've refused to let take you down.
Keep going. You've got you, and she's worth the wait.
